March Madness Continues
Yesterday was the first time I had a real overwhelming craving since I started my Weight Watchers adventure 4 weeks ago. I love Buffalo wings and when I make up my mind to have them it's almost like nothing can stop me! Of course WINGSTOP is out of the question for this diet I am on, but I still needed some semblance of the mighty Buffalo Wing! I am pretty sure that they are a trigger food for me.
So here's what I did to quell my desire for the wings. I mentally told myself that I was not giving into this desire and that I would go do something else and hope that the desire would go away. So I went to Kohl's and went shopping instead! I needed some new workout shoes so that I can start incorporating exercise into my daily routine. I rewarded my over 10 lb weight loss with some new cute Skechers that can help me to continue to attain my goal instead of food, which will only hinder me with my goals. Not only am I creating clever swaps in the kitchen, I am also incorporating them into my every day life.
Luckily I knew that I had some Morning Star Farms Buffalo Veggie Wings in the freezer for me when I got home. They are meatless, but you would never know! If you have a chance you really should try them, all the Morning Star Farms stuff has been good so far, you would be surprised! I popped these babies in the oven and 15 minutes later got to eat my crunchy spicy buffalo wings dipped in some delicious Ranch Yummmm!!!
Yesterday was also the first day that I made the decision to exercise intentionally. I popped on the Wii and put in the Just Dance 2 game and began tracking my workout using the Just Sweat section, which tracks your progress towards the goal you set. I set mine on medium and began dancing with my new shoes on and had a blast. Before I knew it 45 minutes had passed and I was sweating and my heart rate was up. It felt good to get up and move for a change. I will be doing this at least a minimum of 3-4 times a week if not more! Super fun and it doesn't even feel like exercise!
Already I am aware of the many changes that I have made in my life recently and I feel better every day as I keep my goals in mind! I don't smoke anymore, I eat fruits and vegetables every single day! I follow my diet and track everything that I eat on a daily basis. I don't eat at Fast Food Restaurants! I don't drink Soda or eat things that I know are not good for me. Of course I splurge when the need arises, just not in the same way as before. Seriously Angel Food cake is only like 4 points per slice and with some Whipped topping and pumpkin pie spice sprinkled on top you would never know the difference or miss real cake!
My future is looking brighter every day I continue to make changes in my life. I look forward to the day when I look back at all of this and say I DID IT!!! I can't wait to see how the next few months go and the opportunities for things open up for me as I lose this weight! I could go horseback riding again, or Kayak, or hiking in the mountains, or running, or canoeing, or play soccer, or volleyball. The sky really is the limit!
